Of course you’re not really in the Netherlands if you’ve not been properly introduced to our world famous capital: Amsterdam.
That’s exactly what we will do. On Saturday the 13th of February. We will travel by bus to the “Venice of the North” and amongst other things, go on a boat trip on the canals, visit the Anne Frank house and of course have a tour around the notorious Red Light District.

The costs for this trip are €25. Included in this is the transfer by bus, entrance to the Anne Frank house and the boat tour. You can sign up on our website at http://www.esn-leeuwarden.com/signups/ until the 8th of February.

You will recieve more information regarding the payment and meeting point for the departure after the sign-up is closed.

So before you head out to your last exams we want to have one big last party!

It will start at Wednesday 10th of June at 19:30 at Burmania.

This will start with a Barbeque and after that the Goodbye Holland Party at Doozo!

So we’ll have a Barbeque, a few drinks and ofcourse lots of memory’s about this last semester!

We also thought it was a good idea to bring our different cultures a little bit together by having a Barbeque. We realise the Barbeque, YOU realise the food! Just buy a few things you think its really great on the Barbeque or at a Barbeque. Some meat, but also salad’s or some bread would be very nice!

If everybody brings something we can exchange it with eachother and have a great dinner!

So here’s the deal:

We as ESN arrange the barbeque!
We’ll also arrange some standard hamburgers and frikandellen
We’ll arrange the sauce
We’ll arrange a lot of beer and wine
(if you want other alcohol please bring it yourself)

You as ESN-students arrange for a few euro’s some food you think is really good and needs to be there to!

But there is MORE, because ESN celebrates his 20th birthday we want to support not only students in Europe but all the people in the world! This is an initiative of ESN-Europe to raise funds for Unicef, its called Give20. So we ask you to pay 10 euro’s. From that a part will go to Unicef to make a better world

Baskery consists of three beautiful sisters from Stockholm, Sweden. The girls call their own music “High Voltage” and use terms like “Killbilly”, “Banjo-Punk” and “Mud-Country” rather than traditional ones, since they are certainly not bound to any specific genre. On stage they show distinctive character and a reckless, unafraid punk attitude. The girls already toured successfully trough Ireland, Sweden, France, Canada, the United States, Denmark and Norway and lately they got confirmed for the famous Lowlands Festival, one of the biggest and most popular music festivals in the Netherlands. The only show they will give in Holland before the Lowlands Festival will be in Leeuwarden on “International Student night LIVE”.

Growlin’ Love and Pain originated out of an idea of the Italian singer/guitar player Marco Cinelli. His goal was to mix black music with white southern rock in order to create a band that embraces all musical genres that he played and loved during his life. Inspired by the music of Hendrix, Parliament Funkadelic, Sly Stone and the Rolling Stones the band creates a completely new sound. Growlin’ Love & Pain is ready to prove live what they stand for.

The Bolsward-based roots, reggae and dub band Riddim X brings a warm mix of Roots, Dancehall and Dub. From their first promo cd the songs “The Park” and “Guesthouse” reached the number 1 and number 2 position in the Dutch Reggae Chart. Following this promo Riddimx made several appearances with Eek-a mouse and on the stage of various festivals and clubs in the Netherlands. The responses to these shows were very positive and Riddim X quickly became a strong live band. Reggae of Frisian soil with real horns, keys, guitars, percussion and a fat groovin’ riddim section.

Six Senses is a Dutch 6-person girlband with mainly a pop and rock repertoire. They play mainly sing-along-songs of Anouk, Stevie Wonder, Alanis Morrissette and many others.

Tomorrow the Celebrate the Summer Party kicks off at 23:00 at Doozo.
